MGB Rear Valance, Sebring, C/B

Application:    This is an alternative style valance to the standard.  

 

Durability:    All valances are suitable for road use or racing.  An additional layer of matting is applied on areas for the attachment points or where holes need to be drilled.

 

Bolt Holes:    We don’t pre-drill any bolt holes, it is far better to line the panel up and drill the holes where needed, also any holes in the panel make it more fragile and susceptible to damage in transit.  Bolt holes are marked in the panel which can be used as a guide. Tip: drill elongated holes to give room for adjustment when fitting.

 

Fitting:    This valance has a return lip at the top enabling attachment from inside the boot. The lip may need to be trimmed, so the valance pushes back so it has a good flush fit. ¼” clearance holes could be drilled to take a nut and bolt down through the base of each lamp housing to support the panel in position while you align everything to a nice flush fit.  The valance can be fitted in your preferred way, either using nuts and bolts or bonded on using ‘body mastic’. Finally apply a small amount of body seam sealer or filler to blend the join.

Paint Prep:    Firstly, sand the panel down roughly, then apply primer/filler – a rough sand down will ensure the primer/filler keys well.  Sand down again to a smooth finish and finally apply top coat, either Cellulose or Two Pack can be used.
